This Steel “OG” series is our flagship version of the 311 Adventure Rack. We launched this version in 2020 and it’s still our most moderately priced rack option for your Honda Element. If you live in a non-corrosive environment, and prefer the strength and rigidity of steel, then this is your rack!
Our rack will add 2- 2 1/2 inches to your Element’s overall height. This low profile design allows for better weight distribution and height clearance . Currently, our 311 Adventure Rack fits all known tents on the market and uses a simple “bolt down” method, (no mounting brackets needed). However, if you want to use the tent’s mounting brackets meant for commercial sized crossbars, then you need to order our 4 Standard x 2 Skinny crossbar option. All 311 roof racks are manufactured locally here in Bend, Oregon. MADE in the USA!
The first rooftop platform rack designed solely for the Honda Element was created by off-roaders living in Bend Oregon. These 311 Adventure Racks carry RTT roof top tents, awnings, and all types of camping and overland gear. We named it the “311” Adventure Rack because Honda made the Element from 2003-2011. Rack Weight - Steel version approx 62 lbs
Dimensions - approx 83.5" long x 47.5" wide. Added height is 2.25 - 2.5" (at the middle of the roof).
Materials - All parts powder coated Steel. Wind fairing an wind fairing crossbar is aluminum. Stainless hardware.
Installation - No drilling required, one person can install, instructional VIDEO and printed instructions provided.
Element Compatibility - Fits any Honda Element ‘03-’11 (including SC models)
Rack Style - Overland platform rack / customizable crossbars / low profile / 8 contact points
Tent Compatibility - So far, any brand tent will work with our rack. You can bolt directly to any of our crossbars, or select our 2 Skinny crossbar option to use the tent’s brackets.
Crossbars - 6 Standard (4” wide) crossbars; or swap in 2 Skinny (2.5” wide) crossbars to fit Thule/Yakima/tent brackets
Tent Size - 48” - 55” is best for Elements, (55” for 2 people)
Rack Usage - Rooftop tents, overland gear, you can drill your own holes, Thule and Yakima attachments will need our 2 Skinny crossbar option.
